Daily Mail – Setting high privacy controls and de-tagging yourself in photos may not be enough to keep potential employers from having concerns about your social media self.
Rather than trying to get around the pesky password protections of Facebook and email accounts, certain government agencies and colleges are cutting straight to the source.
Some extremely inquisitive employers are asking candidates to hand over them their email and Facebook login information when they apply for a job….

Is that legal? I am not sure I would give that information out! And there is absolutely NOTHING in my Facebook wall that I am embarrassed about a potential employer seeing! That’s a serious invasion of privacy!
Posted by trikatykid | March 7, 2012, 11:25 pmI hope the ACLU (useless in most cases) can be of some actual use in this case and help to get this
massive invasion of privacy banned. It should be legal discrimination if an employer asks for your passwords and log-in info. Are you kidding me? You want my PW? Suppose, like many people who USE the same PW for email, FB, LI, etc, ALSO use that same PW for their bank account or other sensitive accounts. GFY to those who think there is nothing wrong with this. This is akin to 1933 and the Brown Shirts asking for YOUR private personal data. it was an outrage then, so why not now? Government and corporations have OVERSTEPPED their bounds. I believe it is time to dismantle the system.
