Emerging market economies job market more robust

‘In the advanced economies, the first months of 2011 seemed to offer the beginnings of a self-sustaining recovery, a promise that turned out to be a false dawn’ write the Bank for international settlements.

If both Advanced and Emerging Market Economies (AE and EME) job markets were hit by the Great Depression, the EME wre much more robust. This chart, taken from the report, shows the widening of the unemployment rate gap between Advanced Economies and Emerging Economies. The red line represents the AE.
