Massive Open Online Courses / An Initiative to Train Ten Million Skilled Workers by 2020

According to McKinsey Global Institute, June 2012, World at Work, Jobs, Pay and Skills for 3.5 Billion People, projections indicate that by 2020 there will be over 85,000,000 unfilled skilled jobs with an unemployed workforce exceeding 95,000,000 potential employees without the skills required to fill those jobs.

MOOCDOM offers employers the ability to create customized Institutes that use MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) to provide the precise skills needed to meet the employers’ needs. Employers also have the option to include in-house courses as a part of their Institute. Employers are able to create Institutes at no cost in return for agreeing to post job openings through the Institute. Placement fees for employees hired through a MOOCDOM Institute are approximately 75% of traditional placement costs.

Employers with a MOOCDOM Institute can also use the MOOCDOM resources to manage a free in-house training department for their current employees that will provide continuing education to keep employees’ skills current as employer’s needs change.

Individual MOOCDOM users can create a free academic and work experience profile through MOOCDOM and produce an official transcript of their past and current courses and skills. Users can also identify future courses using multiple search criteria including the exact skills that they are seeking. MOOCDOM users can select whether their transcript is used to match them with employment opportunities and can obtain recommendations as to the additional skills that would be needed to achieve their personal goals.
