Office supply giant Staples Inc. said Wednesday that it has cut 500 jobs worldwide as first-quarter profit fell 6 percent to $187 million.
The Framingham chain eliminated 200 positions in North America, including a majority at its headquarters, as well as at an office in Toronto. Staples declined to identify how many people lost their jobs in Massachusetts. The remaining 300 positions were cut in Europe and Australia.

Job Market Monitor 
Staples cares more about the well being of themselves and the people of India. Many layoffs where of people who spent years giving their commitment to Staples, but Staples Executives care about their own personal millions and the people of India. Perhaps they should move there!!!!
