Victoria’s Department of Human Services plans to cut 500 jobs as part of a major restructure.
The state government announced in December that 3,600 jobs would be cut from the public service over the next two years.
The ABC has obtained a letter from DHS which states it plans to contribute to that plan by axing 500 full-time roles.
The department says all frontline jobs will be retained.
