In an effort to help the millions of disabled in India earn a livelihood with dignity, Leonard Cheshire Disability (LCD), an International NGO that supports disabled people 52 countries has designed a unique portal dedicated to facilitate recruitment for persons with disability.
The portal named Jobability.org will cater to people with visual, hearing, speech, loco motor and mild-intellectual disability. The portal is not only for the highly educated and the highly skilled, it will serve as a forum where people with disability can showcase their capabilities, discuss their issues, take advice and meet others in similar situations.
Commenting on this unique Portal developed by LCD, Aruna Rangachar, National Director of CDT said, “Our aim is to use technology and reach out to the underserved communities, break down the barriers that can hinder the access to employment and the professional growth rate of persons with disability. This is a good start to creating an inclusive society which is our ultimate aim, through placing disabled people in mainstream jobs. We need to create visibility for this portal for more and more people with disability to join and find a new career scope through Jobability. We also encourage progressive employers to register themselves and start using Jobability to recruit untapped People With Disability (PWD) talent”…
