Skilled labour now tops the list of the most difficult to fill jobs in Norway, according to
recruitment firm ManpowerGroup. The greatest difficulty is sourcing candidates with a vocational education.
Those most in demand are:
- Skilled Labourers
- Education Professionals
- Engineers
- Sales
- Executives
- Project Managers
- Doctors & Medical Professionals not including Nursing Staff
- Accounting & Finance Staff
- Drivers
- Technicians
Maalfrid Brath, CEO of Manpower Norway, commented: “Skilled labour not just tops the list in Norway, but is also scarce in Europe and globally. Nor is there anything to suggest that the demand for these skills will decline in the near future. Rather, we expect that the shortage will intensify in the years to come. The greatest rise in demand in recent years has been for Education Professionals… and it is no surprise that Engineers are still in short supply in Norway.”
“Norway is following a global trend, where labour shortages in many industries are expected to grow. 20% of employers in Norway say they cannot obtain the skills they need,” she added.
