In November 2013 the number of employed persons aged 15-74 increased by 75 000 compared to November 2012 and amounted to 4.7 million (±35,000). The employment rate was 65.6 (± 0.5)%, an increase of 0.7 percentage points. The number of employed women increased by 53,000 and amounted to 2 236,000 (±27,000), while the number of employed men was 2.47 million (±26,000).
Seasonally adjusted, the number of employed persons amounted to 4.73 million which corresponds to an employment rate of 66.0%. The trend for the number of employed and the employment rate continues to be positive.
The number of employees amounted to 4.22 million(±39,000), an increase of 80 000. The number of permanently employed amounted to 3.52 million (±38,000). The number of temporarily employed was 698,000(±30,000), an increase of 40,000.
On average, the number of hours worked amounted to 157.8 (± 1.6) million per week. Seasonally adjusted the number of hours worked amounted to 143.0 million per week.
The number of unemployed persons aged 15-74 amounted to 382,000 (±20,000), corresponding to an unemployment rate of 7.5 (± 0.4)%. Seasonally adjusted, the number of unemployed persons amounted to 411,000 and the unemployment rate was 8.0%. The trend for unemployment does not show a decrease in November 2013.
