Telecoms / The jobs market is ‘strong’ says Manpower

Continuing activity in the cable, broadband and television markets has led to a another positive jobs market in the telecoms sector, according to recruitment and services company Manpower.

Demand for telecoms jobs in the current quarter sees six percent more telecoms firms hiring rather than reducing staff, says Manpower. This is in line with the national industry avarage.

In the last quarter, 11 percent more telecoms companies were hiring rather than reducing staff numbers, but Manpower says continued investment in fibre broadband and 4G mobile – as the rest of the mobile operators join EE in rolling out 4G networks, means the current quarter’s jobs market will be “strong”.

Tobias Mills, ManpowerGroup sector director for telecoms and media, said: “There has been a hub of activity in the broadband and television market, and the sector has been gearing up for the recent expansion of the 4G mobile network.
