BRITAIN could be forced to accept unemployed migrants from the rest of Europe, Brussels chiefs declared yesterday.
The European Commission said there was “no evidence” that they would take jobs from British nationals.
It also insisted that immigrants should have the same access to benefits as people already living here — and even be shown how to do it.
But David Cameron last night vowed to bring in new laws to stop jobless foreigners sponging off the taxpayer.
In highly provocative comments, EU employment commissioner Laszlo Andor said: “With much higher levels of unemployment in some member states than others, it is all the more important to make it easier for those who want to work in another EU country to be able to do so.”
