As Air Canada’s discount carrier Rouge gets set to take off in July, hiring is getting under way for 150 flight attendant jobs based in Toronto.
“The most important quality that we’re looking for is people who like being around people,” said Renee Smith-Valade, head of customer experience. “And people who enjoy children and engaging with kids.”
Because Rouge is a leisure airline, officials expect more families on flights to Europe and the Caribbean than would be expected on a mainline carrier catering to business travellers.
“We want to create a professional but relaxed and casual environment,” said Smith-Valade, noting that even the uniforms will be fun and youthful to set the tone.
