Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder said the state could lose more than 600 full- and part-time military jobs if the Air Force moves A-10 fighter planes from Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Macomb County.
“I’m not sure we are getting treated fairly by the Air Force,” Snyder said Monday after he attended the National Governors Association winter meetings. “Let’s do it in an open, transparent basis — based on capabilities and economics — not just the politics of the military.”
Snyder said Michigan could lose 198 full-time and 359 part-time personnel at Selfridge and 116 at the Air National Guard Base in Battle Creek.
