Job hunters hold up signs in bleachers and post notices on their T-shirts. Why not a bar?
But I do know of hundreds of job hunters who sit down at their desks and computers every day and call up, email or send LinkedIn messages to people and say, “Hey I’m looking for a job. Do you know of any?” There’s not much difference.
Employers tell me about such scenarios every week.
One business owner who has been trying to fill an entry-level position in her business for a year has gone to professional meetings and conferences in hopes of discovering the right person to groom.
She asks her colleagues: “Know anyone who fits the bill?” She evaluates servers in restaurants to see if they have the goods.
