Sit ‘n Sleep, the mattress firm, is adding five stores in Southern California this year and plans to hire 50 veterans, the company said today.

Sit ‘n Sleep CEO Larry “You’re killing me Larry” Miller says the mattress company will hire 50 veterans in Southern California this year.
“I realized how much unemployment they are facing,” he said. “They have sacrificed and served for the benefit of this country and yet we are doing very little to encourage hiring.”
About 30,000 veterans will be returning to California this year, according to the state Department of Veterans Affairs. Although unemployment statewide is 11.1%, as many as 28% of the youngest veterans can’t find work.
