In November, the unemployment rate held at 5.0 percent, and the number of unemployedpersons, at 7.9 million, was essentially unchanged. Over the past 12 months, theunemployment rate and the number of unemployed persons are down by 0.8 percentagepoint and 1.1 million, respectively. (See table A-1.)
