In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Digital India” programme, the government on Monday launched a digital employment exchange that will enable industrial enterprises to find suitable workers and job-seekers to find employment.
The government initiative is aimed at strengthening communication between stakeholders and improving efficiencies in service delivery in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) ministry.
“More than 35% of the Indian population is under 35. Keeping this in mind, the prime minister worked towards converting India into a manufacturing hub. This online portal will develop entrepreneurship and will provide employment to the youth as well,” said Kalraj Mishra, Union minister for MSMEs, while launching the service at an event held by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci), an industry lobby group.
