Job Vacancies in February in Canada – 5.9 Unemployed people for every job vacancy

Canadian businesses reported 220,000 job vacancies in February, up 28,000 compared 'Labour Force Survey, March 2012' - www_statcan_gc_ca_daily-quotidien_120405_dq120405a-eng_htmwith February 2014. For every job vacancy, there were 5.9 unemployed people, down from 7.1 one year earlier. This decline in the ratio was the result of both fewer unemployed people and more job vacancies.

The national job vacancy rate was 1.5% in February, up from 1.3% posted 12 months earlier.
