The number of job openings in the U.S. economy climbed to the highest level in seven years, becoming the latest labor-market gauge to recover ground lost during the recession.Job openings rose to 4.5 million in April, according to the Labor Departments job-openings and labor-turnover survey. The rate of job openings rose to 3.1% in April from 2.9% in March, also near a seven-year high.
