According to Statistics Finland some 241,000 persons were unemployed in Finland in February, bringing the unemployment rate to 9.1 percent compared to 8.7 percent one year ago in 2013. In January of this year, the jobless rate was recorded at 8.5 percent. 
The agency added that the number of persons in the inactive work population — meaning persons not actively looking for work — rose by 25,000 compared to February 2013.
