After running its employees flat-out building Jeeps in Toledo, Chrysler Group is about to give them a break.
It plans to hire up to 1,000 part-time employees at its Toledo Assembly complex to take some of the burden off full-time employees and give them some time off, The Blade in Toledo reports. Most will get 10 to 30 hours a week. 
Jeep is one of Chrysler Group’s big successes. The unit has seen so much demand for Wranglers and Cherokees that it says workers have had to put in 60 hours a week. While
“Our people have been working a tremendous amount of hours,” the Blade quotes plant manager Chuck Padden as having said. “To get them more time off is important to us, to make sure they’re refreshed, and can work safely.”
With record demand for the Jeep Wrangler and the launch of the new Jeep Cherokee last year, employees are regularly working 60 hours a week
