Electronic Arts announced on April 25 that the company is currently going through an organization restructure. As a result of this restructuring, it has led “to some difficult decisions to reduce the workforce in some locations.”
The company went on to share that they are grateful for the contributions made by each of their employees and that those who are leaving EA will be missed by colleagues and friends.
Furthermore, EA explains that these are hard changes, but are essential as the company focuses on “delivering great games and showing players around the world why to spend their time with us.”
Additional details concerning the layoffs have been reported by Polygon this afternoon which detail that today’s layoffs, as a result of EA’s new organization restructure, number in the hundreds. Layoffs are said to be impacting employees in nearly division of the company. According to Polygon’s source, some sectors are losing half a dozen to a dozen employees.
