It is estimated that the growth in the state’s disability sector will create more than 30,000 new jobs by 2018.
The new jobs will come from government investments and the national disability insurance scheme.
NSW Disabilities Minister Andrew Constance launched another advertising blitz on Wednesday aimed at encouraging job seekers to consider the community care sector and promoting it as a rewarding career choice.
Ms Bosman said there was a lot of misconception about the sector.
“People feel it might be a very difficult job, a burden in a way,” she said.
“But they don’t realise that the people who need the care are just so grateful.
“You have to like people and you have to like helping people, if you’ve got that the rest just comes naturally.”
