Jobs are being shed at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane as part of a bid to save taxpayers $15 million.
Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service has confirmed it is cutting 99 full-time jobs, or five per cent of the workforce.
This will see positions reduced at the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Child and Youth Community Health Service and the Child and Youth Mental Health Service.
Chair of the government agency, Susan Johnston, said redundancies were likely, but would not detail exactly where the job cuts would occur.
“Natural attrition of the workforce and the removal of current non-frontline roles will be a priority,” she said in a statement on Monday.
“However, it is likely that some redundancies will be required.
