In September the Department of Higher Education and Training released the (last draft) Policy on Professional Qualifications for FET College Lecturers for public comments. The School of Open Learning, supported by the VVOB in this project, immediately organised a workshop to map out the way forward in the design and development of two FET lecturers’ qualifications. The qualifications envisaged are the Diploma in Vocational Teaching and the Advanced Diploma in Vocational Education.
During the workshop, which took place on 12 October 2012, Dr Whitty Green from the DHET unpacked the qualifications. This created more clarity and understanding and generated constructive inputs for further improvement of the policy…
