Vocational and technical education can be promoted in Pakistan by making it a part of curriculum and had vocational education institutions
These views were expressed by the participants in Jang Economic Session on law and order and economic situation and role of vocational education. The participants were Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) chairman Faisal Ijaz Khan, Javeed Kiyani, SSP Discipline Punjab Shariq Kamal, Saeed Alvi, economist Shahida Saleem and Jamshad Cheema while it was hosted by Sikindar Hameed Lodhi and Intikhab Tariq.
Faisal Ijaz Khan said economy was suffering due to the absence of foreign investment. He said 68 percent of Punjab population consisted of 15 to 28 years old youth but due to lack of resources only one percent was getting vocational education while in the countries like Singapore 87 percent of population was getting technical education. He said the PVTC was started home appliance and motorcycle technician coursers for Jamia Asharfia, Jamia Naeema and Jamia Hanifa students.
