Eight months after eliminating 13 percent of its workforce, East Syracuse-based Saab Sensis Corp. has returned to profitability and is hiring once again, easing concerns that arose about the company’s future after its takeover last year by a Swedish firm.
The maker of military radars and air traffic management systems recently had its first profitable quarter in two years and has openings for 15 people, most of them engineers, said Marc Viggiano, the company’s president and CEO.
“We came out the other side as a solid business,” said Viggiano, who succeeded Jud Gostin as the company’s top executive in August.
The turnaround comes 11 months after Sensis Corp. was acquired by Swedish defense and aerospace company Saab AB in a deal that made employees and local observers nervous about the future of the company…
