As the year 2011 draws to a close, uncertainty seems to pervade the employment outlook for the coming year. Many people seem glad to see this year come to a close and enter 2012 with hope for economic improvement. Too many variables prevent a clear picture of how the job market will be but  some sectors seem more distinct than others.

Cautious Optimism

CareerBuilder’s Annual Job Forecast for 2012 shows employers expect to add new jobs in the New Year, but are waiting to see how the economy shapes up before doing any major hiring. Twenty-three percent of employers surveyed plan to hire full-time permanent employees in 2012. For small business, of those with  50 or fewer employees 16 percent plan to add full-time permanent staff. For companies with 250 or less employees, 20 percent will hire.
